The Woolgatherers Workshop is a knitwear studio based in Chagford, Dartmoor, making small batch handcrafted knitwear from local Dartmoor wool.

A note from me ✨ After recently hitting my head super hard, I’ve been dealing with post-concussion symptoms for the last month, which has slowed down my studio activities immensley. I’m doing my best to keep up, but I apologise if I’ve missed any emails or messages. I’m trying my best to get orders out but I’m working through things pretty slowly.

On a positive note, this time out has sparked a surge of creative ideas that I’m eager to bring to life, which I wish I could be doing! I appreciate your understanding and patience as I navigate this recovery process.

Listening to the Great British Wool Revival @fashionroundtable podcast today in the studio has me reflecting on my process of creating The Woolgatherers Workshop. In my own very small way, I feel part of a rich tradition of British wool, revitalizing it through the use of local wool from Dartmoor’s sheep. The fleece travels only 30 miles from farm to mill, keeping the process local and minimizing its environmental footprint. The wool is spun with care before arriving at my workshop in Chagford. By keeping this cycle local, the wool retains its story and connection to the land—embodying a sustainable process that is as beautiful as it is meaningful. It feels so special to be a part of the South West Fibre Shed, working alongside local farmers and dyers, working with Sussanah Mitchell and Pigment Plant dyes and Fibers spun by the Natural Fibre Company and Annabelle from Spindle and Skein. Every step we take supports local, sustainable wool traditions—honoring the land and heritage of Devon. 🌿🐑 #BritishWool #FibreShed #NaturalDyes #SustainableFashion #LocalWool #DevonCraft #farmtofabric
